This beautiful jaguar has been an inhabitant of the Philadelphia Zoo for a long time. He is very old and has developed kidney problems related to old age.
He is getting the best veterinary care. That, combined with the prayer I say every time I stop to look at him and pat the glass next to his head, will hopefully keep him alive and doing well for as long as possible.
(Update: Sadly, my favorite jaguar passed away in July 2004. I really miss seeing him when I walk through the Carnivore Kingdom area.)
