King Cobra on the Prowl!

Who's afraid of snakes? Not I. I think they are fascinating! (Of course, it helps to have two-inch-thick glass separating the snakes from me.)

The king cobra is one of the most beautiful snakes living in the Philadelphia Zoo's Reptile House. On the day I took these photos (January 27, 2008), he was in the mood to show off how beautiful he is.

(He might also have been in the mood to eat.)
